Should You Hire Promoshin? A Kickstarter Video Service Review.

Which Kickstarter Video Company Should You Hire? Promoshin? Another Company?

First, before reviewing Promoshin as a crowdfunding video company, I should share the basis for my review. As someone who has worked for years in entertainment and currently makes crowdfunding videos for a living, I love to learn and see what other creators are doing. And before you hire any crowdfunding video company, I want to give you some options, so this is the first in a series of reviews.

I'm starting with Promoshin because I see their ads everywhere, especially when I search for "kickstarter video service" or "crowdfunding video company.”

Benefits of hiring Promoshin for Your Kickstarter Video:

1. They're good at explaining - explainer videos are a great way to unpack information, especially with businesses or processes that are hard to explain. Through music, sound, and motion graphics, it's possible to explain even the most abstract concepts in a simple, logical way. Promoshin does this well, as you can see from their portfolio.

2. Unlimited Revisions - As a client, it feels great to be part of the creative process. As a video creator, it's imperative to be open to feedback and to know how to expertly integrate customer requests. On the surface, this looks like an open, "Fix it until it's right" attitude. One small caution here: from sad experience, I've seen many instances where a client uses this unlimited revision approach and the video starts to to look less like the Michelangelo’s David and more like Frankenstein’s monster!

3. Price - As far as explainer videos go, Promoshin has a really low price point. For companies on a shoestring budget, this makes them a great option.

Cons of working with Promoshin for Your Kickstarter/Crowdfunding Video:

1. You get what you pay for - with the right team, higher budgets mean higher visual quality and video that looks more unique and polished. Promoshin claims to be able to match an animation style. As an experienced animator, I can tell you this simply is not true. Compare one of their videos to a Disney or Pixar movie, and you'll see a huge gap in quality.

Of course, no one could logically expect to pay 2K for Disney quality, and as a startup company you don't really need that level of quality.  For a few thousand more, companies like Simple Story Videos have demo reels that make the animation in Promoshin's videos look like child's play.

Promoshin, as a smart business model, has developed a motion style that is easy to animate and easy to edit. Their design style may change from project to project, but the movement style is basic. It wouldn't be cost effective to do otherwise.

2. Crowdfunding videos should be shot with a live action camera. Flashy animation and motion graphics are fun when it comes to explainer videos. But when it comes to Kickstarter, IndieGogo, and the rest of crowdfunding, there should be no substitute for well-filmed shots of real people interacting with your product.

At Funded Today, we are fully capable of creating beautiful animation, and sometimes we do integrate animation into our crowdfunding video productions. However, our emphasis remains on enrapturing quality lighting, acting, and product interaction in a well-edited live-action video.

3. When it comes to crowdfunding, you should hire the best in the industry. You should work with a company like Funded Today, which has raised over $125 million on Kickstarter and IndieGogo. Nobody understands crowdfunding like Funded Today, which has helped work on more million dollar crowdfunding campaigns than anyone else in the world and helped hundreds to pass that infamous $100,000+ in funding.  You might not know this but only 1% of crowdfunding campaigns ever raise that much money.

While Funded Today started primarily as the experts in crowdfunding promotion, now they can help you with everything from your video, to your page, to the campaign strategies they've used to raise millions for creators just like you.

Personally, I don't think you need to spend $50,000 to get a quality video to attract the masses. The experts at Funded Today know the most important part of your video is your Script. Your crowdfunding video script needs to be written by someone who knows how to sell. And Funded Today's videographers can also help you get some nice visuals to go with that selling script. Then we can design a crowdfunding page for your crowdfunding campaign that converts viewers into buyers.

And while we're at it, we also help you with the other 7P's of crowdfunding. Because as we've said before, a great product and presentation aren't all you need to succeed on Kickstarter or Indiegogo.  You also need the right Platform, Promotion, Price, Perception, and People. (Read More Here). That's why Funded Today wants to work with your project from video, to hopefully exceeding your crowdfunding goals. We've even helped people whose project failed to validate on Kickstarter, to pivot and relaunch to great success. (See ShotBox 2.0)

So should you hire Promoshin, another crowdfunding video company, or Funded Today?

I hope this review of Promoshin as a crowdfunding video company helps you in your decision. Of course, the choice is yours. You'll need to choose the crowdfunding video company that works best for your needs.

So if you are looking for an inexpensive explainer video, by all means, hire Promoshin.
